Tundra Audio was founded by the Danish musician, songwriter and studio engineer Jørn Pedersen with one
mission in mind: To create the best ribbon and tube microphones possible!
- The beauty of ribbon microphones is the simple construction and the natural sound they produce. Most other microphone types are born with various kinds of resonance problems originating from the capsules that have to be artificially repaired at later stages in the signal path. The ribbon mikes are pure!, says Jørn Pedersen However, during his work and passion for ribbon microphones Jørn found that many of the ribbon microphones he had worked with was not perfect. Many of them was indeed fine microphones and produce great ribbon sound (as you probably know) but just not the way Jørn wanted them to - and as good as he believed they can sound. He wanted to keep the most simplistic design of a robbon microphone but with the improved performance of modern components. So he started working on the first Tundra Audio microphone design.
